About Us

MUNINN — Munition Intelligence & Nomenclature Network

MUNINN — Munition Intelligence & Nomenclature Network — is an independent information and analytical platform created to systematize and structurally present data on munitions, explosive systems, and related technical characteristics.

The platform operates as a centralized reference and analytical resource that combines nomenclature data, identification features, technical parameters, and analytical materials on munitions of various types and origins. The core goal of the project is to build a structured knowledge base suitable for professional use in research, analytical, and information environments.

MUNINN is focused on developing a unified approach to the classification and description of munitions, which simplifies identification, analysis, and comparison. The platform integrates information from open sources, research materials, and analytical publications, ensuring consistency and transparency of the presented data.

Online Library

The platform also includes an online library containing specialized literature, reference materials, technical documents, and research resources related to munitions, explosive systems, military engineering, and adjacent disciplines.

The library is designed to support researchers, analysts, and professionals who need access to structured information sources for professional use and scientific analysis.

Name Origin

The name MUNINN comes from Norse mythology. Odin, the supreme god, had two ravens — Huginn and Muninn — who traveled the world daily and returned with knowledge about ongoing events.

The name Muninn translates as “Memory.” In a mythological context, it symbolizes the ability to preserve and transmit knowledge.

Within this project, MUNINN symbolizes the accumulation, systematization, and preservation of information. Like the mythological raven that brought knowledge from different corners of the world, the MUNINN platform is aimed at collecting and organizing data on munitions and explosive systems from the global information space.

Core Activity Areas

  • Creation and maintenance of a structured munitions database
  • Systematization of nomenclature and classification of explosive systems
  • Analytical processing and comparative analysis of technical information
  • Development of reference and research materials
  • Support of the online library of specialized literature
