HEXANITE

Hexanite (HEXANITE) is explosive BP. A mixture of hexanenitrodiphenylamine (HND) and TNT is called hexanit, and may also include aluminum powder. Aluminum and non-aluminum alloys have similar properties. Explosive substance used as the main charge by the Germans and Japanese for underwater ammunition.

Toxicity

Very poisonous. One of the components, hexanitrodiphenylamine, affects the skin, causing severe blistering. Explosive dust damages mucous membranes.

Explosive substance used as the main charge by the Germans and Japanese for underwater ammunition.

Note

burns strongly on the surface and can burn under water.
