NITROGLYCERIN
Nitroglycerin (NITROGLYCERIN) is an explosive BP. Can be used directly as a high explosive.

13° C (unstable from 2° C).
Solubility
Slightly soluble in carbon tetrachloride; well soluble in acetone, ether, ethyl or methyl alcohol.
Application
Can be used directly as a high explosive. Commercially used to a limited extent as a fluid for blasting oil wells. It is mainly used in the production of dynamite and smokeless powders.
