AMMONIUM PERCHLORATE
Ammonium perchlorate (AMMONIUM PERCHLORATE) is an explosive BP. Widely used as part of pyrotechnic and rocket mixtures; some foreign countries use perchlorate mixtures as the main charges in bombs and mines, as well as in industrial blasts.
Melting point
Decomposes to melting in 5 seconds at 435°C.
Solubility
Soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethyl alcohol and acetone, insoluble in ether.
Application

Note
Non-hygroscopic; more stable and less chemically active than chlorates; much safer when in contact with flammable substances.
